  Back from the dead...

'Back from the dead to liven up your sitting room' - so ran the headline in The Times on Saturday November 11th. It went on to say that "no trendy bar or loft apartment is complete, it seems, without all or part of a stuffed beast glaring from your walls". Quoting Kate Moss and Sharleen Spiteri as taxidermy customers, the article continued with "a new breed of collector is emerging. Interior decorators - are snapping them up for castles, country estates, even modern houses." Interestingly, magazine advertising continues to use taxidermy as background, particularly for fashion shoots. So what has come in to WAT recently? Two Red Deer Heads for restoration,a Fallow Deer Head for the same! Requests for restoration of a Tiger Skin, and antique case repairs; and of course, the usual owls and woodpeckers, and a sprinkling of cats and dogs.
