  Sea Storm Casualties

Storms at sea regularly cause bird deaths and injury, the bodies washing up on the beach as heavy seas batter the coast. The recent spell of bad weather off the North Yorkshire/Northumberland mainland brought in a range of species - at Seaburn and Blyth the beached specimens ran into many dozens and included Puffin, Razorbill, Guillemot, Herring Gull and Great Black-backed Gull - mostly first and second calendar year birds - a number of which were collected and brought back home to Wild Art.
