Common Barn Owl (tyto alba)

Tony Soper in his book "Owls" described his understanding of the ideal toy as one which successfully caricatures the human being, and quoted the owl as probably the second most significant toy in the UK - with an upright posture, large forward-looking eyes, a 'face' and 'cheeks' (the disk), the Barn Owl matches these requirements exactly.
