Common Barn Owl (tyto alba)

Common Barn Owl (tyto alba)

Generally speaking all owl species are solitary unless breeding and raising young. Long-eared and Short-eared Owls are known to more gregarious, often coming together to roost in fairly large numbers; the Barn Owl also has been noted as a social sleeper, with accounts of up to 50 birds flushed from a single roost tree in the United States.
