Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

Set up as an exhibition piece for the International Owl Society's Chester Zoo meeting, the Tawny Owls shown represent the two ends of the species' colour forms - red and grey. The grey form is described as 'very uncommon' in Britain - out of the many hundreds seen at Wild Art, only three have been the grey variation, confirming this view.
