Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

An exhibition piece, this adult female stands on a large section of dead elm. Present-day statistics estimate the number of breeding pairs in England and Wales at 75,000. This piece accompanied Wild Art to the Leica Day held by Green Witch at Dry Drayton, near Cambridge. Wildlife artist and TV presenter Bruce Pearson painted a full-length snapshot of the day, in addition to exhibiting a number of his raptor studies.
