Tawny Owls (strix aluco)
As with any competitor for food, Tawny Owl young are chased away from the nest, and out of the parent birds' territory once they are sufficiently old to fend for themselves - August/September/October are the months when owl youngsters are making their own way, and it is then that juvenile birds are most vulnerable to traffic on our busy roads. |
