Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

With long, stout talons, and a vice-like grip, Tawny Owl prey once caught, stands little chance of escape. Like most birds of prey, the Owl has an automatic locking mechanism in its foot, tightening in response to prey items' struggles. Hence the need to wear strong gloves when handling raptors.
