Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

Tawny Owl (strix aluco)

A large, dark brown adult bird, yet another road casualty. The Tawny Owl, like the Red Fox, frequents towns and cities throughout Britain - large gardens, allotments and parks offerring suitable housing and opportunities to feed. In the urban environment, the Tawny Owl's diet switches to bird species - sparrows, thrushes, blackbirds, even pigeons.
